I saw a few good films at South By South West. But the one film that stood out was ‘Muscle Shoals’. It’s a documentary about the ‘Muscle Shoals’ sound that became the back beat for many of the most influential songs in the 60s and 70s. It features so many big names such as Bono, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Percy Sledge and Aretha Franklin. It’s also beautifully filmed.
The films currently on selective release in the UK. I caught it last week at Curzon Mayfair. But I believe it comes out on DVD soon. If you get a chance to see it. I thoroughly recommend it.
